I don’t believe in magic, but if there is one thing on this earth that I would call ‘magical’ it is the birth of a child. One of the most amazing things to witness. It never, ever gets old. It’s like Spring over and over again. Imagine a flower blooming over and over. It’s how I feel about birth.
I take birth photography very seriously. It is truly as important, in my opinion, as a wedding. Birth to a child happens once. An incredible miracle of God’s design. Perfect in every way. Bring a birth photographer is something you will not regret. And it’s something that should be considered with great care. It is such a personal and private event in a mother’s life. Being selected to document such is an honor beyond words. I’m so thankful for the handful of clients who choose me to capture this event for their family. Here are just a few of the images of the scene right after baby was born and then about an hour after such. Such wonderful memories to have.
What was extra exciting at this birth was that the family had decided to wait on knowing the baby’s gender. It was a surprise the day of delivery. I do think whether you find out the gender of your baby before or after they are born, it’s still a very fun surprise. However, I have to give kudos to those families who wait to know until the baby is born. I mean, the patience of not knowing for nearly ten months. WOW. I just think it’s extra cool.
On this day, it was most fun to hear the words, “It’s a boy” shortly after he made his entrance into this world. And then big sister calling him ‘her’ baby from the moment she met him. The sweetest thing ever!
