As a parent, it is always interesting (see: frustrating, exciting, nerve-wracking, wonderful) to witness your teeny tiny baby go from a “newborn” to an “infant” to a “toddler” right before your eyes. Between feeding habits, sleep patterns (or lack thereof), growth spurts, developmental milestones and all the new skills your baby acquires, the first year of a baby’s life is pretty much a constant state of transition (for you and him). Once you get the slightest bit comfortable with how to meet your child’s (sometimes finicky) needs…BOOM! It’s as if some unfamiliar force has possessed your sweet baby and you must relearn how to appease this new occupant.
Of course, I’m exaggerating (and I’m sure that every moment spent with your toddler is pure bliss 😛 ), but there is no denying that growing children are transitioning and learning all the time. Even with all the challenges it brings, it is something so incredible to experience and witness. Loving, nurturing and guiding this precious little life could be your most significant contribution to the world (no pressure!).
Even though it is more evident with children because they change so much as they grow, we are ALL transitioning daily. Each day, you choose who you will be and how you will treat others. These relationships we develop as a result are what life is made of and what I LOVE to capture in my photographs. Taking pictures of families as they navigate and enjoy the different phases of life is truly my passion! This gorgeous family is currently loving their “transitioning toddler” phase and it’s absolutely delightful!
