So this is part 2 of this awesome family’s session (part 1 is here). This time there’s a bit more focus on Dad…and I love it! His facial expressions are just too great and it is clear how much he adores his family. It’s kind of funny (or sad, really) how dads often get overlooked in the whole pregnancy rigmarole. Aside from being congratulated and maybe given a “job well done” pat on the back, men are typically put on a back-burner when it comes to all things pregnancy related. (Some men, I’m sure, are more than happy with that scenario!) Certainly it is the mom who is doing all the direct work carrying the baby, but the value of a supportive and loving partner should not be underestimated. Dads who are willing to give all of themselves to care for their families are a true blessing and should be celebrated. This role is even more important when a second child is on the way (or has arrived) and Dad can (and does) care for the first while Mom focuses on the newest, most vulnerable member of the family. It was clear from my time spent with this crew that this is a dad who should be acknowledged for his love and devotion to his family. I hope these photos help to do just that!
