Maybe you have found this page because you googled Family Photographers Houston. That is great. So happy you have found this page.
So many options
Years ago when I entered the child and family photography market, there were actually not quite so many photographers out there. It was one of the reasons I was interested in going into photography full time. Now there are so many Family photographers Houston that I’ve lost count.
When trying to decide the best family photographer for your family, maybe consider a few important things.
How to choose a photographer
Visual critera
Do you like the photographs you see? First and foremost, it’s vital that you see a portfolio of images that radiate something inside. Can you visual your family in the photograph in place of those in the picutres you see? Do you think to yourself, oh those are gorgeous and I want photos like that?
Budget
Let’s be real. Budget is often times at least a little bit important. While price is something everyone wants to know upfront, it is more the true value of what you want that will be your deciding factor. You might get lucky to find an amazing and talented child photographer who is just starting out with very low pricing and offering a lot of product, but those are going to be truly diamonds in the rough.
What takes years of practice is how to handle children and families during an entire session. The ability of the photographer to guide and direct a photography session professionally, efficiently, but also offering as little stress as possible during the chaos; which let’s be honest, with little ones, there is always some chaos.
So experience has a price. You must decide if you value that.
Availability
Is the potential Houston family photographer able to accommodate a day and time that works best for you?
In the early days of my photography business, I was very strict on the times of day I would photograph families and kids. I am much more flexible with that now. Over time, I understand light conditions and the importance of location selection more than most. While I do prefer certain times of day, but I’ve photographed late morning and mid afternoon without problems.
Photographer personality
Being able to work well with a Houston Child Photographer is important too. I love this simple article from Adorama that give a quick overview that is helpful. It highlights five desirable qualities every good photographer should have.
- Creativity and Imagination
- An Eye for Detail
