The sun was crazy this day, which is something I normally try to avoid, but sometimes it just unavoidable. The thing about this morning was that they sun was over the top blaring bright and then within an instant, it was just medium bright. And then, in a blink of an eye, there was shade. It was so crazy. I mean, if it would’ve just stayed even somewhat consistent brightness, that would have been really nice, but mother nature wanted to challenge me this morning like no other. You may be thinking, but you shoot manual, so just change the settings. Yes, that’s true to a degree in this case. I could get proper exposure on the subjects, that was not really the problem. It was more that to achieve this, the rest of the photo would end up being so crazy bright and fully of inconsistent color, which is okay a little, but too much drives me bonkers. HA! It’s in times like these I must say to myself…”You are a professional. You can be flexible. You can do this.” And then I do the best I can. I guess what it really boils down to is that sometimes it’s good to be thrown such a curve-ball. It sort of forces you to adapt and maybe grow a little and I guess that’s a good thing, even if it messes with your sanity a little. HA!
I’ve been shooting this wonderful family since this little gal was a newborn. They are not in my area, so unfortunately, I don’t get to see them all that often anymore, but when I do, it’s such a joy!
