I have a new found soft spot for boys.  In June we welcomed our first child into this world….a son to call our own.  Parenthood….quite possibly one of the most exciting emotional roller-coasters of life.  But yet so profoundly rewarding.

Whether your family was formed through adoption or birth….or maybe a little of both…the connection between parent and child is something so very unique.  As I watch my own son grow so quickly before my own eyes, my heart aches already with the mixed emotions as he becomes his own little person with each passing moment.

I do enjoy capturing families in somewhat traditional photographs…you know the ones where everyone is looking at the camera so perfectly.  Of course, I always want to offer a few of those images, but the photographs that really make me say, “this is why I do what I do”…are the moments I get to capture like this.

A raw, spontaneous moment between mother and son that radiates the most amazing light of joy and happiness.  It’s in these photos that my heart skips a beat.  These are the captures I live for and I know will be cherished for a lifetime.
