These photos were not planned. I was photographing a first birthday party. As with most 1st birthdays, it could not be complete without the ‘baby eating the cake’ portion of the event. It’s always funny to see how a baby will react to such. In particular, if it is their first time eating something as a cake with icing. Contrary to what most would think, there are many babies that simply don’t really like it. Maybe it’s a texture issue or maybe it’s just too sweet. Who knows. This birthday boy did a pretty decent job, I would say, in well, let’s just say creating a mess with his cake. As I’m not for sure how much of the actual cake made it into his mouth. haha. But everyone sure enjoys watching the birthday baby still the same, no matter the outcome. It’s just fun.
So after this little guy made his mess, they wanted to actually give him a bath. The bathwater was actually already run when I thought the kitchen sink would be so much more lovely. And I’m so very happy with our 5 minutes in the kitchen sink photos. We got some sweet ones with icing covered face and then wanted to get a few with clean face, too…but by the time he was ‘clean’ he was basically ready to get out…of course, but we managed to get a few still. YAY!
