I’m pretty sure I might have mentioned this before, but extended family photographs are some of my favorites to capture. (There’s a chance that I might have said that about every kind of photograph I take! Taking pictures of all people truly is what I love! Whatever I’m photographing at the time is likely my favorite! hehe!)
Anyway…what I really love about extended family pictures are the generations that are represented in them. It’s amazing to think how different the world is for the youngest person pictured versus the oldest (and all the people in between). Each generation deals with their own unique challenges and expectations. The world into which the oldest was born differs vastly from the one the youngest knows. Things that are commonplace to the current generation were unheard of during the childhood of their grandparents (and, in many cases, even their parents). Although there are so many differences between these generations, those things are all irrelevant when is comes to love. Love is the same from generation to generation. It is eternal, infinite and beautiful.
It is the love within a family that I want on display when I photograph them. This gorgeous family below is full of love for one another, from the oldest to the youngest. Hopefully, future generations will be able to look back at these photos of their “ancestors” and see the love that helped bring about their own existence.
