If you have seen even a bit of my work, you will notice that I love full contrast images….images that are clean and timeless…images that look like your family. In the abyss of photography, there are so many ‘styles’ of photography and within those styles is almost an endless variety of processing. Many trends come and go, but what I strive to do is offer images that are true to life. I like to keep whites white and blacks black. Sure, depending on the light, there might be some slight variations….for example, when shooting in full sun, the skin and hair will reflect a much more golden hue to it, where as in shade, colors are much more cool. But pretty much, I like to keep my processing pretty clean.
So if you love color and contrast images, I’m your girl. 😉
This session was no exception. I’ve had the honor to photograph this family since big sister (shown below) was only 1 year old…she is 4 now. It is hard to believe it’s been that long since I met this family. They hold a special place in my heart for sure!! Being a part of many milestones since that first session. Now their family of three is now four. Two of the sweetest siblings, with such different, unique personalities. It is so fun to see how even so different, they love each other so very much. I love so many things about this family….one thing I love about this family is that every time I’ve ever photographed them, they are so accommodating and laid back. This is likely because the nature of mom and dad is pretty chill. It is so refreshing when a client fully trusts me and is always game for basically whatever tickles my fancy for our shoot. In this case, it was going to the Orange Show, which is a quirky little place in Houston. I first visited the Orange Show many years ago when I lived in town. I always thought it would be fun to photograph a family there, but it never seemed to work out….until this year! I was overjoyed when Mrs. G agreed to drag her family there for our session. It is a bit out of the way, but they were game! YAY!! I thought it would be fun to do something different with them…since they are one of my favorite families. 😉 Thank ya’ll so much for humoring me with this different location. I love these pics so much it hurts!!!!
