If you are familiar with my life and work, you are probably aware that I (as an adoption success story) have a very special place in my heart for adopted children and the families who love them. It is such a beautiful thing to witness the love in a parent’s eyes for a child whom they have longed for and gone to great lengths to bring into their home. Being able to capture these moments brings so much joy to my heart. Although each adoption session I photograph is unique and has its own special story, they all have something in common: a child is coming into their forever home and now has a family of their own. It is precious and priceless to witness the bond that is forming (and has already formed) between parent and child. I truly believe that God orchestrates each of these situations, often bringing people together in some of the unlikeliest of situations. I believe He has a special place in His heart for adoptees, as well, as we are His adopted children through His love for us. Being connected by love (whether a child is adopted or biological) is far more important than just being related by blood. In a perfect world, we would all be connected by love. There is certainly no denying the love connection in this picture.
