There are many reasons I love this photo. Sure, genuine smiles….from not only a toddler, but his baby sister is awesome, of course. I also love the fact that the dog just happened to get in on the photo. That was not planned but was such a great addition when it was all said and done. I mean, their puppy is just as much a part of the family right? But I also really like the angle I shot at. It is not all that unique really…shooting from above, that is. But I do feel that them on the sofa with the kids hanging over like this is pretty unique. It is a real moment that yes, I sort of orchestrated, but then it then just happened. So don’t worry. During a photo session, I am very directive. I’m pretty good at coming up with an initial plan of positioning and/or activity, then I just let the kids sort of determine where we go after that. I do best when I am feeding off your kid’s enthusiasm. So momma’s don’t worry about your lively kids, rest assured, I live for lively kids. hehe I really try to work with your kids and not against. Often time the kids not doing exactly what I have in mind makes for the absolute best photographs. I just roll with the punches and ask that my families do so as well. It really makes for a much less stressful event. 😉
