I love when clients have me into their homes for a photo session. I’ve said it before, I love…like, really love outdoor photos. The bright light…the trees….sometimes the amazing sunshine…the grass…just nature as a whole is just magnificent and makes for a wonderful backdrop for photographs. But then you have indoor sessions. So warm and inviting….so personal…getting a glimpse of where a family spends most of their time together. Being able to capture that is, well, just such a high. You might be wondering which is best? What do I prefer? So to set the record straight, I do not prefer or like one over the other. I simply love them as much as the other because they are so very different. It is like comparing an apple to a banana. Similar, but very different. They both give their own special something.
What I’m really trying to do is utilize a few little nooks or spots around a home that maybe would go unnoticed normally. I want to showcase a detail or two in a home and make it sort of pop. This was one of those spaces. The mirror was cool, nothing too fancy, just classic…and then there was this incredible light coming through. So I could not resist getting a few spots of this gorgeous pair looking at themselves in the mirror. The funny thing about this is this sort of thing really happens. As a mom, I know there have been more times than I could count where I took my sweet boy and let him see himself in the mirror with me. Even though I am pretty sure the don’t quite get that they are looking at themselves, it is most certainly still a fun thing to do.
There are so many more images I can’t wait to share from this session so stay tuned!
