Merry Christmas and Happy New year!
So I’m about a two weeks late on the Christmas wishes and a couple of days shy of the new year, but who cares. HA! 🙂 I’m not one for cliche photo sets and such. I’m certainly not one for ‘props’. However, this year, with three little people around including my own and my sister’s two kiddos, how could I resist?
Well, that’s right. I could not let the year pass without a photograph of them all together around the Christmas tree in their pjs. Please forgive the sparse tree decor and the messy tree skirt. We had all gone to dinner with my parents and I thought, man, I’d love to get a pic of the kids by the tree when we get back home. I had no idea how it would turn out or if anyone would cooperate. I admit, I had zero expectations and was prepared to forget the whole thing at the first glimpse of a meltdown.
Got home, got the kids in some pajamas. Put the oldest and youngest sitting together and then planned on ‘planting’ our son in place. However, to all of our surprise, the little guy just walked up and pointed up at the tree. And just like that, in seriously less than a minute, we had the shot. I’m still in complete shock that it happened so flawlessly with no crying or any issues at all.
I could not have been more pleased with the end result of the image. I mean, a little one looking up and pointing which was not planned. One baby holding an ornament in hand…totally just happened, not planned. And the oldest, looking up with a big smile on his precious face. I mean, seriously. It could not have been better! I loved the color image, but there was something special about the b&w edit, so I’m showing you both.
