***discalimer*** Yet another post I found sitting in my ‘drafts’. Similar as the other, I photographed this family about a month before having a baby…hehe
I actually did a pretty good job before going on maternity leave, scheduling months worth of blog posts in a matter of a few days. Overly ambitious? Maybe a little, but I wanted to ensure my site was being updated even if it was ‘scheduled’. Anyways….it reminded me of this gorgeous dress and this adorable child who I’ve been so honored to photograph as she and her family have grown.
+++++++++++++++++++++
This dress is a family heirloom and so we had to get some shots of this sweet girl in it! And for the record, she did not want to put this dress on. I recall some fantastic bribing going on before she gave us about 5 minutes in this dress. Hehe
And there is always a compromise right? This one being her favorite Tom shoes. And actually, I love that she wanted and insisted on leaving them on. It made it the perfect combination of past and present. <3
This gal has grown so very much since the first time I photographed her on her 1’st birthday. What seems like ages ago, yet still, I can remember it like it was yesterday. Funny how we can feel so bipolar about these things, right?
I literally recall driving up to their little Heights bungalow. It was so cute.
Getting some photos of her on their back patio, which was covered and screened in. We photographed her in her neon green gdiaper and also in her custom onsie her momma had purchased that said ‘one’. I had this silly owl hat that I put on her for some outdoor pics in a patio chair, which still remain some of my favorite images of her as she was smiling so big.
We then put her in this pretty little floral dress. I recall it was just as sunset and the light was so very nice. We ended up photographing her in their driveway, which sounds nuts, I know, but trust me, those photos turned out so lovely. The family dog was a great help during this part of our session because she offered the most wonderful distraction and helped us achieve some really happy faces.
I’m so thankful for the vivid memories of sessions past and for the families who gift them to me.
