I’m sure I’ve mentioned it once or twice, but one of my favorite things about summer is taking underwater portraits. They are just so much fun and the results are breathtaking! (If I do say so myself, of course 😛 .) Whether it’s children or maternity shots (which I think are especially fabulous!), there is just something so captivating about these underwater shots. The facial expressions and carefree movements of the subjects, the bubbles, the reflections, the beautiful hues of blue, the ripples of the water and the way the light comes through the water…all these things and more are why I adore underwater photography.
The lovely little mermaid in these shots was such a joy to work with! If you can’t tell from the pictures, she LOVES the water! I know this aquatically-inclined young lady will be spending as much time as she can in the pool this summer. It’s one of the few things that makes a Texas summer bearable!
(Side note: In addition to being a spectacular swimmer, she is also a wonderful big sister!)
