I love that song by Brad Paisley. It’s amazing to think how each life is a result of generations of love stories. (I realize that in many instances “love” may not have been involved, of course, but I’m choosing to focus on the positive here 🙂 . ) There are so many minuscule things throughout the history of mankind that, had they gone differently, would have kept you or me from ever existing. It is incredibly humbling to think that our entire existence could have been compromised by the slightest deviation from the way events took place. So when I look at and photograph a newborn, I’m not just seeing that child; I’m seeing an entire history of love stories that have taken place…and many more yet to come.
