If there’s one thing I’ve learned while doing photography (and in life in general) it’s that each client is different and has his or her own ideas about how their photos should be. While you can use similar techniques and ideas and have a specific style, you certainly can’t take a cookie cutter approach to any photo session. For instance, some clients want their whole family to be part of a newborn session while others only want pictures of their precious new arrival. Some have strong feelings about certain poses and color versus black and white, while others give me carte blanche for the entire session. As long as I’m not being asked to do something that I feel compromises my artistic integrity (you know, like putting your baby in a lizard suit or something with insane props), I say, “Bring it on!” I love new ideas and, most importantly, understanding what is going to make my clients 100% satisfied with the pictures I take of their family.
The mother of this precious little one wanted these pictures to be purely and simply all about her gorgeous newborn girl. I absolutely love that and am more than happy to oblige!
