It’s always incredible to me how many fabulous underwater images can result from a very short underwater session! Maybe it’s because we’re not trying to get a smile, specific expression or pose; we just go with whatever comes naturally to a child jumping into a pool and having fun underwater. (Not that I ever really do “posed” pictures with any session, but it’s even less so with underwater sessions.)
Each picture captures some of the pure joy of a child jumping into a refreshing pool during the hot Texas summer. If you’ve ever watched children at the pool, you know that their excitement is palpable. Their energy level is off the charts and simply cannot be contained. Jumping in then getting out of the pool just to be able to jump back in again is the greatest thing ever for a child! Repeat that about a zillion times (slight exaggeration) with the same amount of enthusiasm each time until exhaustion and hunger finally set in; that’s the essence of childhood and a summer spent in the pool. (Unless your child doesn’t like the water, of course, in which case none of that was applicable and I probably will not be seeing you for an underwater session any time soon 😛 .)
