{ my creative gender reveal: the story behind the photo, if you are interested }
Let me first say that although I am already 20 weeks, and there are so many people that actually don’t even know yet that I’m even pregnant.
I don’t know…I’m just not one for the fuss and all the attention. I’m weird. I know.
But since I never did the traditional, ‘we are expecting’ announcement…
the people who do know about our new are dying to know what the gender is….I thought it only fair to announce the gender to everyone at once…
and well, why not go ahead to the entire world. HA!
So then I had to come up with a fun, new way to announce the gender reveal. There are so many already that have been done. I mean, do a search on the internet…the abyss of great gender reveal pics is daunting.
But, I’m the the girl, that if it’s been done before, I don’t want to do it. I’d rather do nothing.
And pretty much everything I thought of, I found online somewhere else, which is easy to do these days with such fantastic sites as Pinterest.
I wanted something I had not ever seen before. Something I could not find online in a gender reveal photo.
I knew I wanted confetti. I knew I wanted it done it what will be the baby’s room. I wanted to be sitting in the middle of the room with the confetti falling down over me.
It was a photo that I had not seen nor could I find online….which made me so very happy because then, I could possibly be the very first.
Just the thought of being the only one or the first made me so terribly giddy, I was beside myself. 😉
But getting falling confetti in a room of this size…well, I had nearly decided it just wasn’t possible.
But then, after much research on the lovely Google, and many phone calls I finally had the way it could be done.
I would need a few things; most important three of my dear friends to make this photo possible, who I am forever grateful to for all their help in making my little vision come true. <3
It took us only about 1 hour to get the shots we needed. The hardest part was getting a good shot without my face totally covered with confetti. HA! We did do one of each photo (one if it was a boy and one if it was a girl) so that I could be fully prepared to immediately post the appropriate photo as soon as we got the news ourselves.
And since you have already seen the actual reveal pic that we are having a boy, I did think it would be fun to at least show you what the photo would have been if we found out it was a girl.
🙂
