Wondering what to Wear for Family Portraits?
It is a prevalent dilemma. You are not alone! There are many things to consider when choosing what your family wardrobe will be for your photo session.
First and foremost, everyone should feel pretty comfortable and themselves in what they are wearing. Thankfully, there are so many options out there to meet everyone’s comfort and style.
Choosing colors that make your eyes sparkle is an excellent place to start. Begin with two primary colors, then mixing in a few more neutrals will be easy.
I can’t stress enough…coordinating, but not too matchy-match. Some matching between siblings is okay. Don’t be afraid to mix a little pattern in. What to wear for family portraits does take some planning, but should not be stressful. I’m here to help anyway I can during the selection process. Thank goodness for cell phone cameras and texting.
Something to consider that folks often don’t think about is what you will do with the photos? Will they be printed in a book or photo album or displayed on walls in your home? It is wise to consider choosing your color palette to not class with your current home style if possible.
I adore this color scheme. Blues are and will always be a solid choice for a foundation color. The pop of green is lovely alongside the floral dress for mom and a very delicate embroidered shirt for daughter. Adding the son in blue-green plaid is an excellent addition as well. A great choice when dad likely wants to keep things very basic. Ha!
Indeed, a Pinterest search will bring you lots of options as well.
