One of the reasons I love doing extended family photo sessions is that grandparents tend to beam while holding their grandchildren. They don’t seem to be able to help it. I don’t know of any actual scientific studies that have been done to rate a person’s happiness before and after they became a grandparent. (There very well may be such studies that have been done…I’m just not personally aware of them. Of course, writing this made me want to look it up and, in so doing, I found this article about it. Apparently, there are these kind of studies.) From my vast informal research, however, I’d say there is a direct correlation between having a grandchild and being a happier person.

Grandchildren = Happiness.
