Houston Children's Photographer bio picture
  • I like to think I catch the divine in the ordinary using natural light and everyday settings. My style is pretty simple. It’s a dab of traditional studio (for my youngest clients) mixed with modern lifestyle portraiture. Candid shots are my favorite. I want to capture your child’s spirit and personality, even if that's not a traditional smile. Kid's are my specialty, but also enjoy capturing the entire family, from newborns to high school seniors. I shoot on location in Houston, Texas and surrounding areas. I'm from a small East Texas town and have hippy-like tendencies. After college, I ventured to the city, which is now home with my husband and our dog, Cocoa. Faith, family, friends, food, fashion & fabrics consume my mind when the shutter is not clicking. Custom photography is a luxury, but I promise it will be worth every penny. I look forward to sharing my love of photography with you and your family!

Wall Display Options | Baby Photographer The Woodlands

Here is an example of three options I’ve designed for my friend who is looking to display photos from our sessions together above her stairway.

I’m sure you are wondering what the canvas sizes are for these displays.  No problem.  Here goes, with the largest sizes listed first.

Option A:  two 20X24′s, two 12X16′s and two 14X16′s

Option B:  one 32X20, two 16X20′s and three 10X10′s

Option C: two 20X24′s, one 16X20, two 10X20′s and one 14X16

Which one do you like best?:-)

I love option B!

Dallas

I like the idea of the pictures flowing with the staircase, so option B for me, but I’d add more to make it more full.

Leigh

Option A – maybe yo could help me figure out which photos to enlarge so that I can order them asap! Do you have the time?

Definitely option B for me! I just think it has a better flow! Very cute Pics by the way!

Found: Turtle | Houston Photographer

We found a turtle in our yard.  We kept him and called him ours all for about one hour.  He was not our turtle for long. We offered him the most pristine, organic lettuce as we were certain he would chow down.  To our surprise, he (somewhat rudely) rejected it our hospitality.  Even though overall (besides rejecting the finest lettuce around) quite friendly with us, he clearly had a strong desire to get back to home.  We weren’t real sure where his home was so we ended up taking him over to a small pond area in our neighborhood where we hope that he finds some friends.  Nice meeting you little turtle.  We wish you the best.  :-)

Happy Happy Birthday | Houston Children’s Photographer

Speaking of relationships and getting to know families and kiddos…I’ve watched this little gal grow from newborn to ‘not so much a baby anymore’.  {insert tear, but a happy tear}  Miss A’s mom (who I adore) and I had big plans for her cake smash.  But as it turns out (and really we should have known) Miss A is quite the dainty, ‘I don’t want to get messy’ kind of girl.  Her 1 year cake smash was a wee bit uneventful, but we did manage to get a few happy faces.  However, the majority of the ‘smash’ were looks of slight confusion and ‘I don’t want to touch this because it looks messy’ faces.  HA!

Never the less, she is a quite the cutie patootie!

Magic | Houston Children’s Photographer

Do you believe in magic? Okay, so I don’t believe in the Salem witch trials type of magic, but I do believe a different type of magic.  My mom says that when I was little I would spend hours upon hours by myself in my room without a care in the world.  I had quite the vivid imagination when I was a child.  This is the magic I’m talking about.  The magic that comes from being taken away for a moment, into a different place or time.  Some place where we can be free, full of unending joy and indefinite possibility, even if it’s for a that moment a world that is a little make believe.  Photography for me is about the product sure.  There is no denying how much I love the final result of my work, but it’s so much more than that for me.  It’s about the lives of people.  It’s about catching the glimmers of their life and showcasing it in a way that will bring a bit of happiness for years to come.  It’s also about getting to know people and their children.  It’s about somehow being a better person because I’ve given them a piece of me and they have given me a piece of them.  No job is perfect, but I’m so very blessed to have the chance to pursue this path as photographer.  I never want it to be a ‘job’.  I want it to be magical not only for me, but for my clients.  I’ve been lucky this year to get to know the B family.  I’ve been photographing them since Mr. T (who just turned 1 year recently) was in his mother’s womb.  This is what I cherish.  Relationships.  Relationships formed slowly over time.  This is what I call the good life.  Thank you to all my wonderful clients who make this journey the most amazing experience a girl could ever ask for.  Okay, before I have to get the tissues out (ha!)….here’s a sneak peek of the B’s recent family session.
